Aerial Yoga & Inversion Therapy
Designed originally as a prop for correct alignment during yoga asanas, the Gravotonics aerial hammock has multiple uses. It is the perfect device for Aerial Yoga or as part of your exercise and strength training routine.
Similar to the full yoga trapeze, aerial yoga hammocks are used by yogis the world over for all the possibilities it opens up and the support it adds to complex yoga poses – perfect for developing core strength, flexibility and deepening your asanas.
The aerial yoga hammock is a therapeutic piece of equipment that can be used to practice Inversion Therapy which is ideal for gentle, passive traction of the spine.
Hanging upside down can alleviate muscular tension and pain as well as promoting increased joint mobility, flexibility, energy levels and circulation.
All these in turn promote good health and well being…
For more information please visit our Inversion Therapy information pages, which gives you an introduction, some instruction, safety tips and FAQ. Also learn more about our Yoga Swing Training courses we offer and be on the lookout for any upcoming trainings..
Lightweight and portable…
The yoga hammock weighs only 1kg and requires minimal space in a backpack so you can take it wherever you go and hang it between tree limbs or exposed beams, which is perfect for camping trips or relaxing afternoons in the garden…
The Adjustment Straps (daisy chains) are strong and durable straps used to adjust the distance from the ceiling or beams and have 10 divisions 15cm apart to allow for maximum height adjustment versatility.
Our kit includes everything you need to attach to your overhead points or hang from exposed beams, tree branch or trapeze bar. NOT INCLUDED: Ceiling accessories must be purchased separately if required for permanent mounting into concrete or steel/timber joists etc

Aerial Yoga Hammock FAQ
What is a yoga hammock?
Aerial yoga hammocks allow you perform yoga poses while suspended in the air and can also be used for various resistance training techniques. The hammocks range from a simple length of strong fabric tied to carabiners - through to purpose made, triple stitched parachute fabric with heavy duty hooks. They are attached to daisy chains and hung from the ceiling, tree branch or yoga stand.
How long should my aerial hammock be?
The ideal length Aerial Hammock is 1.5M wide x 2.5M long. If you prefer it they are available in longer lengths, however you can simply use daisy chains to vary the length. Simple fabric hammocks on the other hand are usually approx. 6.5M long, although it does also depend on your ceiling height.
What is the best fabric for aerial yoga hammock?
There are a few varieties of material that you can find that are suitable for aerial hammocks. You can simply buy lengths of polyester tricot or you can buy hammocks purpose made from 100% parachute nylon. Both are breathable, strong and incredibly durable fabrics. Tricot is softer and has a bit more elasticity, however many people prefer the tautness of the nylon for yoga practice.
What is the best aerial yoga hammock?
Trying to decide the best aerial yoga hammock can be difficult, however there are a few things to look out for.. Is the hammock individually hand-made and quality checked or mass produced? Is it made from high durability fabric? Does it come with heavy duty triple stitching and solid fittings? You want to avoid cheap, mass produced swings which may be a risk to your safety.
